Answers
Q. I have created a log in but have not received a verification email.
A. The verification email will be sent to the email address you entered in the create login form. If you are sure you have entered the correct address, check any spam filtering you may have in case the mail has been redirected. If you still have not received a verification email within 24 hours, please contact the secretariat.

Q. When typing in my email and password, I get ‘Maximum
attempts exceeded’.
A. If you have made more than three mistakes in entering your email address
then you will be locked out. To overcome this close the browser (Internet
Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or whatever software you use to view webpages)
completely, including any other tabs or windows. This should allow you to
try again. If it still does not work you could try rebooting your computer.

Q. I have reloaded my browser/rebooted my
computer but still can’t log in. I know I have created a profile.
A. If you have forgotten or are unsure of your password, you can use the forgotten
password facility The new password will be sent to your registered address
but be patient, email systems vary and this could take minutes or even hours.

Q. I can’t remember my password, can you tell
me what it is?
A. No. For security purposes, passwords are encrypted on the system. However,
we strongly recommend that the password you use is NOT one that you use for
critical accounts such as Amazon, PayPal or online banking. (See Terms and
Conditions and Privacy Policy) If you wish to change your password, you can
do so by selecting the ‘Edit profile’ option once you have logged in. Alternatively,
you can let the system generate a new password by using the forgotten
password facility

Q. I can log in but every time I try to do
anything I get sent back to the log in screen.
A. The system uses session cookies to keep track of your visit. These are
temporary cookies stored in memory and are not used for any other purpose
. If you are sent back to the login screen it means the system cannot find
the cookie, probably because you have your security settings set too high.
Try resetting them to medium or medium-high.

Q. I gave you my details last year, are they still
valid?
A. If you can remember the email address and the password you used last year
they may still work. If you can only remember the email address then the forgotten
password facility will tell you if the address is recognised. A new password
can then be sent to that address.

Q. Why can’t I submit more than one abstract?
A. Due to the popularity of the ISBE conference who have reluctantly limited
authors to one abstract each this year.

Q. Can someone else submit an abstract on my behalf?
A. The system stores the personal details of authors including a personal
contact email address which is used for correspondence email. If you allow
another person to submit an abstract on your behalf then they must have access
to this email address. However, the operators cannot be held responsible for
the integrity of your personal details if you share your log in with someone
else. See Terms and Conditions
and Privacy Policy

Q. I get too much spam already and do not wish my
correspondence email address to appear in the conference handbook.
A. There must be an email address for the conference handbook but if you are
worried about spam we recommend creating a temporary email address. This can
be changed using the edit abstract form.
